Summer 2026

Jakob + MacFarlane were invited to create a project using 110 wooden pallets for the second edition of COMMON SHELTERS.
In such an exposed location, the design team identified the concept of a shelter as paramount—one that provides protection while offering a view of the Anglo-Saxon islands in the distance.
The pallets are conceived as a series of layers, forming walls that also serve as seating for travelers.
The Peace Shelter is conceived as a sanctuary that is both physical and symbolic—a space that protects the body and nurtures the very idea of peace. From outside the shelter, one looks out at the sea; from inside, one gazes up at the sky.
It thus serves as a final window for reflection on this central theme.
